National Child Labour Programme (NCLP)

Background
The Government of India supports this programme. School drop-out children are provided with remedial education and encouraged them to re-join in regular school. Efforts have been made to persuade school drop-outs in Erode District to re-join school. This programme started in 2009.

Activities
Schools are run under the supervision of CEEMA. Each centre has one teacher, one part-time vocational teacher and a cook. Mid-day meals, uniform, note books and other study materials were provided. The children weregiven skill trainings for better future. They were also trained for school assembly prayer and to sing National Anthem. They had celebrated all festivals and other important days. Exams were conducted for the children. TCs were issued to all eligible students for joining regular schools.

CEEMA organized Children’s Day celebration at NCLP School, Chennimalai, Arachalur and Bhavani on November 14th 2018. We conducted drawing competition, essay competition and running race. 56 students participated. We gave prizes to the winners.
